Accident investigation dockets accessible on NTSB Website

Posted on June 1, 2009

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Beginning today, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will release all accident investigation public dockets to the NTSB Website.

The move furthers the board’s compliance with legislative and executive mandates aimed at improving the U.S. government's use of electronic media to encourage a more open and transparent government.

"I am proud that the NTSB is taking this enormous step forward by making all accident investigation documents contained in our public dockets available to NTSB Website visitors," Acting Chairman Mark V. Rosenker said. "The safety board's reputation for comprehensive and thorough investigations can only be further enhanced by providing such easy access to the materials related to the accidents we investigate."

To access the NTSB's public dockets, visit www.ntsb.gov/Info/foia_fri-dockets.htm.

For more information about the accident investigation dockets, call the NTSB Records Management division at (202) 314-6551 or send an e-mail to [email protected].
