WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has requested the participation of pupil transportation officials in the School Transportation Regional Highway Security Exercise, which will be conducted on July 23 at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C.

The exercise is intended to bring together several regional stakeholders to discuss the multi-partner coordination of prevention, protection and response actions to a security incident that affects the pupil transportation industry.

During the event, a scenario-based tabletop exercise will be conducted that focuses on assessing security threats, establishing communications, securing critical infrastructure and threat-based public evacuation.

“Your participation is important to ensure your perspective is presented during our discussion of regional school transportation security topics, and to provide an opportunity to enhance existing relationships with other industry partners and agencies as we work toward a common goal of increased security preparedness,” said William Arrington, general manager of the TSA’s Highway and Motor Carrier Division, in an invitation letter from the administration.

To RSVP for the event, e-mail Darrin McGreevy at darrin.mcgreevy@dhs.gov or call (571) 227-1463.
