LAFAYETTE, Colo. — Education Compliance Group Inc. has released a new driver training video, The Road to Compliance for Special Needs Drivers, by attorney and consultant Peggy Burns.

In the 26-minute video, Burns provides critical information about the legal basis for transporting students with disabilities; the role of the IEP and the need to follow it; defensible student management strategies; avoidance of dangerous situations over which drivers have control; using assistive equipment; handling student health and safety information; ensuring that vulnerable children are not left on the bus; and maintaining parents’ confidence.

The video comes with a discussion guide and driver handout to reinforce the key concepts in the program, and to help users explore with drivers the ways in which this information applies specifically to their jobs.

The Road to Compliance for Special Needs Drivers can be purchased in DVD or VHS format for $175 each, plus $15 shipping and handling, from Education Compliance Group Inc., PO Box 221, Lafayette, CO 80026.

A combination package of one DVD and one VHS copy is available for a discounted price of $240 per package, plus $15 shipping and handling.

For ordering information, call (888) 604-6141 or e-mail ecginc@qwestoffice.net.

A sneak preview of the program will take place during the Transporting Students with Disabilities conference in Indianapolis on March 3.
