LAS VEGAS — The Alternative Fuels and Vehicles Conference and Expo 2009 will be held in Orlando, Fla., from April 19 to 22.

Highlights of the conference will include a keynote address by T. Boone Pickens, founder and chairman of BP Capital Management, who will discuss ending U.S. dependence on foreign oil through what he calls The Pickens Plan. He will be joined by Andrew Littlefair, president and CEO of Clean Energy Fuels.

More than 200 experts will make presentations on fuel options including natural gas, ethanol, biodiesel, propane, electricity and hydrogen, and the vehicles they power. Speakers will also cover conversions, infrastructure, plug-in hybrids, funding and incentives.

The Expo Marketplace will include major auto manufacturers, technology developers, industrial, heavy-duty and bus manufacturers, engine manufacturers, component suppliers and developers, fuel suppliers, government agencies, universities, and environmental and industry associations.

During the Ride-n-Drive event, attendees will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest vehicle offerings and get product information to aid in decision-making. Company representatives will be on hand to answer questions.
