MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — At the National Association for Pupil Transportation’s (NAPT) trade show earlier this week, SafeGuard introduced a new product platform for its line of school bus seating products.

With the introduction of SpaceSaver architecture, the thin back of SafeGuard school bus seats (including FlexSeat) enables school bus operations to provide lap-shoulder belts while maintaining the same number of rows found in most traditional floor plans.

“SafeGuard’s strategic goal for belted seating continues to be for one seat to fit all,” Sales Director James Johnson said. “With FlexSeat, we addressed flexible seating capacity for two high school students or three elementary school children on a standard 39-inch seat. Now with the addition of SpaceSaver architecture on seats throughout the product line, we address row capacity from front to back.”

In addition to introducing SpaceSaver architecture at the NAPT show, SafeGuard rolled out LATCH, track and ICS on its new product platform. The company also announced the availability of SafeGuard FlexSeat with three school bus manufacturers: Thomas Built Buses, IC Bus and Collins Bus Corp.
