Blue Bird awarded for partnership with shippers, insurance providers

FORT VALLEY, Ga. — Blue Bird Corp. was awarded the first annual CAARE (Combined Awareness and Accident Reduction Effort) Partner of the Year Award, which honors outstanding cooperation between manufacturers, shippers and the insurance industry.

The CAARE program is sponsored by Carolina Casualty Insurance Co. and is designed to promote safety in the workplace and on national highways.

Devon Bechtel, president of delivery provider Quality Drive-Away Inc., and Bob Perew, vice president of loss prevention for Carolina Casualty Insurance, presented the award to Blue Bird officials at the company's Fort Valley, Ga., manufacturing facility.
