Edgar Robles, the 16-year-old suspect in a school bus shooting last week that injured two students, is in police custody in Georgia. He was arrested during a traffic stop and was treated for a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

District officials review the bus video and say the driver did everything right, and that the situation escalated because of a parent who showed up with a bat, demanded that his student be let off and threatened the life of the driver.

A freshman student of Garinger High School in North Carolina was allegedly “causing problems on the bus” when a school resource officer tried to talk the student down and then restrained him before using his stun gun. Police said the officer shocked the student after he cursed at the officer and tried to punch him.

While a bus driver and an aide were breaking up a fight between two special-needs students and checking on one of the students, the other student involved in the fight ran to the front of the bus and began driving it. Another bus driver noticed and drove in front of the bus to cut it off, causing both vehicles to collide.

Following recommendations from the Department of Juvenile Justice, Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judge Raymond Gross includes several conditions in the probation, such as electronic monitoring, community service and a requirement that the students transfer if they are assigned to the same school as the victim. Some say the sentence is too lenient.
Former bus driver doesn’t regret breaking up fight

Leon Harris was seriously injured in 2003 after a student hit him with a fire extinguisher when he intervened in a fight between students on his bus. The story comes on the heels of a recent incident in Pinellas County, Fla., in which one school bus passenger was severely beaten by three others. The bus driver complied with district policy, commanding the students to stop fighting and radioing dispatch for help, but not physically intervening.
Student arrested after bringing box cutter on school bus

The student told authorities that she was planning to confront a 12-year-old girl with the box cutter. She has been charged with possession of a weapon in a school zone and making terroristic threats.
