Blue Bird, Synovia Solutions partner to offer Blue Bird Connect

Blue Bird Connect is a GPS system from Synovia Solutions, and the school bus manufacturer is making the system available to customers as a factory option when they order new buses. Customers have the option to activate, at no upfront cost, any or all components of Blue Bird Connect. Blue Bird dealers can also upfit an existing fleet of buses with the technology, regardless of brand.

The test covers such criteria as maintainability, reliability, safety, structural integrity and performance.

Georgia district partners with Redflex, Blue Bird to curb stop-arm running

Gwinnett County Public Schools plans to install the Redflex Student Guardian camera system, which is available from Blue Bird dealers like Blue Bird Parts and Service, on 100 school buses by Labor Day and then more later in the school year. The system monitors traffic in both directions, and evidence of potential violations, including video and photos, is submitted to local law enforcement to determine whether a citation is warranted.
Blue Bird to unveil 2015 model year bus improvements

Officials say the enhancements to the Vision are an optional 98-gallon propane autogas fuel tank, new headlights with integrated turn signals that feature clear-lens technology and a new bracket for the cross-view mirror. On the Vision and on the All American are upgraded clearance lights and an improved driver’s seat belt system.
First Student adds 50 Blue Bird propane buses to fleet

The school bus contractor will use the Propane-Powered Vision units to transport students under its agreement with Bozeman (Mont.) Public Schools. The buses feature GPS, digital video cameras, the Child Check-Mate electronic reminder system and crossing gates.
STA to receive Blue Bird bus during Propane Road Tour

The Propane-Powered Vision unit will be delivered to Student Transportation of America’s Omaha, Neb., terminal next week during the tour, which will raise awareness of propane as a clean, safe, cost-effective and efficient alternative fuel for school bus use. The bus is the last in a landmark order of 434 propane Vision units that the contractor made last year.
