i have this 2006 gmc short bus 4.8 gaser it will not take gas it keeps kickin the pump off tried a few different stations i took tank down checked filler neck and evap lines everything was clear i found the evap vent solenoid was stuck closed replaced that put all together still will not take fuel unless u turn nosel 90 degrees any ideas i know you guys are normally desiel but i figured iwould try lol

Most of these have a filter inside that evaporative vent system. The filter is charcoal based, but has a cloth screen at the port entering that black box. If the lines are clear, then you problem is probably that cloth screen. You'll have to replace the evaporative vent canister. the last one I got was about $250.

Yes, it's the rectangular black plastic box. The nail in the coffin test is to unhook the lines going into that box, then see if it will take fuel. If it takes fuel, that canister filter is your problem, if not check that little "vent line" that attaches to the upper end of the filler neck, making sure that the tank fitting is open and the filler neck fitting is open.

i was gonna try that but was worried ifit fills fuel may come out of that line while pumping fuel

There was a TSB on a lot of those where they've come out with a "kit" to replace some of the evap system parts with some updated parts. If I could get your VIN I'll check it for you.

Well, I couldn't find a TSB specific to your bus, but this is a link to the TSB I was referring to:

The GM part number for the updated kit is 19207763. There are YouTube videos on it.

ok i smoke tested it again and founf the vent vavle was stuck closed ismackie it and it opened i tookit to get gas and it took gas fine soi replaced the valve and so far so good
