Is part of that redacted? I can't read the text below the pictures. I wondered if it had something to do with emissions but it's pre '07 so no?

OK, I was able to read all of it. What are they talking about when they say "oversight of school bus operations will be addressed"?

Just curious, are you allowed locks on the emergency exit there? Here, if you have a lock on the rear exit it must be wired to disable the starter and an alarm sound, and if latched during operation an alarm must sound. This became the law after a child burned in a bus, the rear exit was locked. That was back in late 1990's possibly the early 2000's.

I thought it was FMVSS about the locks on the doors?

It is a pre-emissions bus, it'll be a DT466 or T444E in that. It's the previous generation of CE bus, before the new hood. Has the Ward rear bumper and 3800 style front bumper.

That sounds like they are just talking about maintenance records, DVIR records along with driver training and that sort of thing. I have been through a similar situation, not a fire, but a driver crashed into a tree and was killed. They were the only one on the bus at the time. All of my inspection records and maintenance records were gone through along with driver training records. It's a scary thing to go through, nobody want's to be the reason someone lost their life. Very sad to hear about this and am interested as to what might have happened.

I'll speculate the same, it's all about record keeping. I dealt with it when we had our rollover years ago.

Another thing that bothers me is the bus turning into a drive and backing out, huge no-no most anywhere. Perhaps that's an issue to be addressed.

That tough to watch. I'm not sure I could have done anything at that point either. And I know as much as anyone about school busses.
