I wonder if "aftermarket" means "add on" or if it's both ad on and "replacement"?

From their website: "Each Skyline DOC is specifically designed as a direct replacement for the OEM catalyst."

No mention of anything retrofit that I saw.

We have a few ESW retrofits. They have been relatively low maintenance and have worked much better than the Cleaire stuff.

How do they (retrofit filters) regen? Always wondered that.

The Cleaire DPF's that we have are a just a passive filter. When they start getting plugged, they have to be plugged in for about 6hrs while they regen. These are next to worthless. One bus literally gets about 100 miles before it has to be plugged in. We can only use it on local routes.
The ESW DPF's that we have are an active system and actually have a fuel injector in the exhaust pipe so they will automatically regen as needed while you drive. The ones we have are ESW Thermacats. They have been much better and have only had a couple of maintenance issues. (Broken brackets, straps, etc.)
