We ordered some buses with electric stop arms and we've had more problems with them than the air operated ones. So this year when we spec-ed our new buses, we ordered them with air operated stop arms. Much less failure rate and no problems with homing.
The new "wind guard" might be a plus. Certain times of the year ours get to where when the wind blows they will open fully then slam into the side of the bus. Kinda unnerving the first couple times it happens. Now with the newer busses we have two that beat on the side of the bus.....
Are the air operated ones as prone to wind issues as the electrics?
The word "intelligent" scares me. Anything with electronics on it will fail before anything that's manual like the air bag version. We have almost zero problems with the air bag signs, we've also spec'd our new buses with air bag signs.
