i am doing a park regen on a 2015 thomas C2 and every now and then i get a big puff of smoke from under hood it smells like kerosen is this normal i cant tell where the smoke is coming from. also just curious when its regening what creats the exhaust heat like what makes the exhaust temp get to 1000 degrees

The heat is created by fuel being injected into the exhaust system. I believe it is done by fuel being injected into the cylinders on the exhaust stroke. The puff of smoke and smell you have is from the fuel being injected to the exhaust and if you see it, you have an exhaust leak.
so far i have done 5 park regens on passed few days and the buses are fair;y new and they all had that puff of smoke every now and then find it hard to believev they all have exhaust leak but i cant tell where its coming from
