Make sure the atmospheric vent on the vaporizer is unrestricted and ignition timing advance mechanism is functioning properly.

Why yes, the ORIGinal CHARGER is a Fastback

Liquid fuel goes in it from tank, vaporized fuel comes out through large hose to carburetor. Not sure about your lift truck but the vaporizers we used back in the day ran engine coolant through them to keep them from frosting up when the propane vaporized.

Also ignition system needs to be in tip top shape for propane. Make sure cap, rotor, wires, plugs are in first class condition.

ditto what Fastback says. My forklift last week (old nissan motor) was running rough and the culprit was corroded contacts in the cap and rotor. Also double check the vacuum lines from the carb.

Seems elementary but make sure the tank is on correctly.

So, the hole in the ring on the top of the tank is on the bottom? So, if you floor it, it will stay running fine?

when it warmed up i could floor it and it would run fine for few seconds where as when it was cold soon as i floored it it bogged out and surged like i said now that its warm its better and driveable but still bucks some times with load on it and full throttle

I'm not very familiar with carbureted propane engines. Have you tried picking the brain of your local forklift shop? I'm sure no matter what brand it is they can steer you in the right direction.

Yeah, I think the diaphragm in there can go bad. But I don't have a lot of experience with those. That is all eliminated on a modern LPI system in these buses. It really sounds like you have something going on in the fuel system. I think I'd just tear into that and see what's going on. Oh, just thought of this, wonder about the regulator? What's the brand and model number on that vaporizer? Is it an Impco?

yes impco VFF30 does that make sense the fuel comes from tank into that vaporizer then comes out and goes right into another one and comes out of that into the carb

The Impco VFF30 is a combination fuel lock off and filter, should have a small diameter liquid fuel line in and out of it. The Vaporizer will have a small diameter liquid line going in and a large diameter vapor line going out to carb.
