 ic motor wont shut off

ok here is what i did and what happened i had a turbo exploded on a 2008 ic DT466 i replaced it cleaned all the hoses and cooler removed the doc and dpf they where clogged solid had them cleaned but all back together fired it up ran fine shut it down came in today to finish up some things on it fired it up it ran for bout a minute then all of a sudden the rpms shot up i ran in bus shut it off and it stayed running i thought it was gonna blow up i had to cover up the air intake to finally get it to shut down o and i smoked like crazy i took intake hoses off thinkin there was an oil leak somewhere everything was dry any ideas i am affraid to restart now thinkin its gonna blow

We just replaced the turbo on the exact bus for the same reason. International recommends replacing the crank case breather after replacing the turbo to avoid an engine running away. Not sure why the engine runs away after replacing a turbo but I guess they're right. We replaced it and haven't had a problem.

On the later engines you need to check the valve cover. Some have a baffle and need to replace the v/c also.

wow 528 bucks seems like everything is over 500 bucks on these internationals and i will check the vavle cover thanks guys

Yeah that's why I was considering getting the BB with the Roush V10 gas engine.

yeah idk about the ford motor in a school bus we demod one i wasnt impressed and the fuel mileage is terrible isnt it like 4 or five miles to the gallon ???????

We have a demo coming to us next week. Yeah I heard the fuel mileage isn't great but I think it'll pay off in the low cost of maintenance and repairs. And probably less time in the shop.

we run the roush gas and propane gas gets 7.5 mpg propane gets about 3 but here propane is about 50 cents a gallon they rev but drive nice

How did you get the gosinta in the whatchamacallit
