I have an '07 transit style bus with the CAT C7 ACERT motor. Does anyone have any advice on how to keep the oil coming out of the crankcase breather tube from blowing back on the bell housing? It doesn't even leak 2 quarts of oil between oil changes. It's just an annoyance at this point. All of our C7's do this. Thanks.

We extended our hoses so they darn near touch the ground just for this reason. It didn't help 100% but it helped. State patrol gets twitchy if they think there's an oil leak.

I've thought about elbowing the hose and taking it back a ways but I've never done it.

Yea the driver keeps writing it up for an oil leak and I keep telling her there's nothing wrong. Just an inconvenience and was hoping there might be someone who figured it out. I may play around with elbows and such. Thanks.

I thought about putting those fancy dancy crankcase filter systems like Donaldson Spiracle on, but the dealer very strongly urged me not to on the old Cats.

Don't waste your time on the crankcase filters. All that happens is it moves the "oil leak" from under the engine to the firewall or wherever the filter will be mounted. We have a bunch and I hate them. We can't get rid of ours though because they were put on by the state.
