I've seen it happen once in awhile from overfilling. They want to squeeze every last drop into it. |

I've seen some ICs do it, and older blue birds, but don't recall any other ones. I've mostly seen it when they fill it as full as they possibly can and park on a bit of a slant. Usually don't have a whole lot come out, but enough to notice. I assume that most all tanks are gonna be set up the same way more or less. |

Train your drivers "when it clicks off, it's done". Also check the valve that the vent hose connects to. I've had them get gutted internally and puke fuel out on the ground. |

Yes. The spring is very light, they get corrosion in there and stick. You may be able to free it up if not too bad. The valve is suppose to offer roll over protection, and they leak when stuck open, they should block the port when fuel reaches it. I wouldn't worry if it is just a bit damp, but there should be no drops or wet. Bluebird PN 10013053. |

Do you guys still have the white envelope that came with the bus? There's pages and pages of build parts in there, it should lead you to the part used. Sometimes it conflicts with part departments' info. |

The number I gave you is the latest version that I know of, and your BB dealer is agreeing? . There were several changes over the last few years, some for leaking, some for falling apart but that one is the end all fix (for now LOL) SO far any I have changed have the same thread size, but the head or hex on them have been different because of different design. Are you saying the thread that screws into the tank is different? |

yes the threads are different i can physically see that the new one is way bigger then the one i took out the dealer said the part superseeds a few times and the part number u gave me is the final change but again there is no way the new one will fit i tried just to make sure but no go so now i am lost no idea what to do uggggg and i bout three cause i have three visions with the same problem |

Our oldest are 2011's, sounds like some things are different. One of the plugs must be the same size as the new vent? The access holes in our floors are above the fuel gauge sending units. Fuel lines and the vent is beside the sending unit. All this is beside the filler neck. Bus been modified at some time? |

Thats a good site Thomasbus24 !!, this appears to be the updated version of that.
http://www.newyorkbussales.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Chassis-Tech-Tip-11-0404REVB-Diesel-Fuel-Tank-Vent.pdf
So I guess find a hole the new vent will fit in, and plug the hole where the old vent was?
I wonder, do you have auxiliary heater in this bus and they used where the vent should be for the use of the heater and put in a vent they found to fit another hole? Do you have other holes that just have plugs in them near the hole in the floor? |
