I know this has probably been asked and answered . We have installed some items that need reprogrammed by International .We are close to 70 miles away from a dealer .Is there anyway to access the reprograms so we can do it in house Trying to get someone here is like pulling teeth
I am talking about IDM and Hydraulic brake CPU .WE are installing a new hydraulic unit on a special ed bus for the Meritor Wabco .I thought about swithing the CPU but am afraid that would void any warranties .
You will need toolbox software from wabco then download the file for the ECU from oncommand to program the ECU, you will need the vin# to get the file.
Yes you need a subscription to oncommand, Your IC dealer can help you with that then you can login and get the download for wabco. JoeHEB1 is correct IDM programing is not needed.
Got this one taken care of . I used my toolbox to reprogram the ECU . Still had a ABS and a traction control light . Came up with a 70 70 10 code . Couldn't clear it . I took bus out for a drive and it reprogramed it self . Thanks
So those of you who have replaced the IDM and did not have to reprogram it I ask did you just replace the IDM bottom Board or the complete IDM module? We have replaced several IDM Bottom boards and you are not required to reprogram the IDM since the bottom board is the high voltage (muscle) side of the module. The top board is the brains of the module. We replace 2 complete IDM modules and they required reprogramming by a International dealer (login access to Chicago main frame)
As for Wabco reprogramming, you definitely need Wabco software and then download the software from OnCommand. the actual down load and programming takes just a few minuets and you are done. We installed a unit last year and had issues afterwards with incorrect settings. A quick call to Wabco and the issue was corrected. Not a fan of Wabco brakes or the $2500 for a Brake unit.
