The Solenoid will not close upon turning the key to accessory position. I have 12v on the one post as it should once the key is turned the solenoid should close, however it does not. If I tap it with a hammer or wrench it will close. Has been replaced twice and still no go.

Are you 100% sure it is wired correctly? What kind of bus are you dealing with here?

Bus model and year may help us to help you.

Sounds like a power supply issue at the small signal wire or a ground issue with the solenoid.

check voltage drop at the small wire.

Are you checking the voltage with a dvom or a test light. It seems to me like you have a voltage drop somewhere or loose connection or a faulty or loose ground wire.

u can use a power probe or a jumper wire and power up the small terminal to see if it closes if it does then u no u have a voltage problem if it doesnt u have a ground problem
