Recently had a bus get struck by lightening. Changed quite a few parts, sensors mainly, turbo base plate. Checked for leaks in CAC and exhaust system, no leaks found. Got bus running again with no issues until road test. Noticed on flat terrain bus responded normal. Got to an incline and bus would not go over 20mph, rpm would not go over 1500, and 0 boost. No codes are present. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. |

I see you mentioned turbo base plate. If so equipped, make sure rapid warmup device exhaust baffle is open and depending on year, waste gate is functioning as designed. |
Why yes, the ORIGinal CHARGER is a Fastback |

Ok... I have disconnected both the diverter valve and the waste gate in combinations. Road tested and no change. no boost no power. Want to change the turbo but don't think that will be the fix. any other suggestions? |

did you do a stall test and hear a whistle? and im not familiar with that particular engine, but i have on more than one occasion seen a coworker change a turbo for the same issue when the problem was a hose to the air compressor. sometimes the air comp intake is on the pressure side of the turbo. stupid expensive turbo for a 3 foot chunk of hose. food for thought. |

Did Stall test never any whistling sounds. All hoses have been inspected and replaced if any doubt was raised. Looking into the roll the high pressure oil pump plays in this... got oil pressure but just above 20psi |

I don`t what year bus you have. When we had these engines years ago there was a tube that ran to the exhaust back pressure sensor that would plug up with soot. It was located on the right side, front of engine. We cleaned them by removing the pipe and blowing air through it or sometimes had to use a wire first. If this is like your bus you can see it by just removing the sensor. Good luck. |

Update to this since Jaysan77 seems to be slacking. The exhaust back pressure tube was cleaned and sensor was replaced already. The Y pipe that comes off the turbo had a cracked flange on it. We are currently waiting on a new one to come in. |

Update: The new Y pipe was put on, and the bus seems to be doing fine now. |
