I had the fuel pump go out on my 2002 8.1L gas Bluebird two months ago. I replaced it with an AC Delco unit and things were fine for about two weeks. I noticed a hiccup one day, just very momentary. Nothing happened again for another week, then the same thing--- didn't happen under load but after topping a hill and going on the flat. I changed out the plugs and plug wires(plug wires were bad) but it kept happening at one week intervals. Two weeks ago I pulled the fuel pump to replace it and found a wire with the insulation melted going to the pump and in the tank! Changed the pump and put heat shrink tape on the new wires. Today I felt that hiccup again. I've owned the bus for two years with no issues. Ideas please.

I've repaired a few GM engines with similar issues by gently bending the pins in the injector connectors to obtain a tighter connection.

Pulled the pump to check the wiring and all looked good. Replaced the fuel pump relay and checked the pins on the injector connectors like busrench suggested. Running good now.
