hey fellow techs.
ive got a 90 all american (3116/at643) with a bad speedo and i cant find a direct replacement anywhere. has anyone had this issue? know anyone who is hoarding old blue bird gauges? retrofit? chase car for hire? any help would be great.

Look into opetion 2 and 3 here. I don't know if you can use the same part for a bus of that vintage tho:

a bad speedo? I haven't had a speedo go bad since that one high school swim meet...

Just curious, how many miles on the AA? Good to hear there's still one that old in service somewhere! Been thinking lately, seems like all you guys are working on nowadays are CEs and Visions.

thanks for the help guys. and the jokes. @ 08 thomas, the chassis has nearly 400k miles on it, and from what i can tell from the records, the reman 3116 is getting a reman head after about 150k miles. maybe ill get my parts just in time for the chp to do a terminal inspection. and i have another with a cummins. you wanna buy em? :) clean one owner, non smokers, no pets...

We are running an 88 and 89 model Bluebird TC2000 here. No Idea how many time the odometer has been around but judging from our early 90's fleet that have 290,000+ on them, the 88 and 89 should be over 300,000. They both get used daily transporting after school programs from one school to another. About 1 mile round trip.
