I just recently have signed on with another district . The one I was at had Internationals but nothing newer than an 04 . I never had any serious issues until now . I have 8 buses with either the Dt 466 or the maxforce engines .My problem is the school has no tools for these engines . I mean no diagnostic or some of the pressure gauges or special terminals for the sensors . I approached my boss about this and said I need a high pressure gauge to check the HPOP on a bus that won't start . So I was told to get a list together of what I need . Then she called a neighboring district to see if they had the gauge for the HPOP . They didn't but mentioned I use service maxx . Well the district had the disk but the connectors wouldn't work . So I am asking everyone what would be the best items to have to work on these engines . Is computer programs the best or that and some special tools ?I need detail for the items I need such as part numbers or really good descriptions with names . Thanks for any help !!!!

ServiceMaxx is your best friend. Call the dealership to purchase it. It's a great tool to point you in the right direction.

You can get it from these guys too and it may be cheaper because you can buy different bundles.

Servicemaxx will definitely help with this. The thing to remember though, is that it will tell you what the sensor is telling the computer. Then with the use of physical gauges, you can compare your readings to further diagnose your problem. If that makes any sense at all.

So if servicemaxx says HPOP is under pressure to run . Then I need to get a gauge to make sure ? Will it even tell me what pressure the HPOP is putting out ? Also will the servicemaxx tell me what to look for if an engine won't start ?

ServiceMaxx will show you all the engines vitals such as ICP pressure, oil pressure, fuel pressure, turbo psi, etc. It will give you DTC codes to give you some idea as to what to look for when something is wrong, not all sensors will give a code like the CMP sensor when it goes bad. A nice feature it has is the Iknow section, it comes in very handy. ServiceMaxx tells you many things but it won't tell you everything.
