We have a 2013 c2, hydraulic brakes. When the key is turned on (to the right without starting the engine) the electric brake motor will not run. It is operational, however when the brake pedal is pushed while the engine is off.

No shops has been able to figure this out. Has anyone came across this before?

Bad flow switch or wiring to it?

I had one do this to me when the wiring harness for the stepwell light had rubbed and shorted itself out. I can't remember what the fuse was labeled as under the hood but when the fuse was replaced the step light returned as well as the brake motor.

Wow, this is a mess. No bad fuses, switched out bulk head module with another bus, as well as brake module from behind the gauge cluster and all the relays. Changed ignition switch, flow switch, wiring to flow switch is fine. No power to brake motor with just the key on. Motor gets power when the brake pedal is pressed.

I did some digging through some wiring diagrams on Access Freightliner. It looks like there is a pink wire #81C 1102 that sends an ignition signal to the hydromax module behind the gauges, so that might be something to check. It looks like it originates on the BHM dash connector

Finally found the problem!!! The wiring harness to the Hydro Max module behind the gauges was put together incorrectly at the factory. The hot (pink) wire was in the wrong spot on the plug.

thanks for all the help!!
