The outdoor scenes of the school are from a middle school in the town where I grew up, so it is neat to see familiar places on the big screen. I did not go to that particular school though, so I do not know if the insides from the district. The buses are not from the same town...in talking with a friend, we were thinking a combination of buses from one district north, and some Detroit-based contractors. In addition to the numbering scheme, one ode to Michigan bus specs can be seen in the previews... they replaced the district name on the emergency door with simply "OKLAHOMA," ha.

A lot of the movie overall was filmed in Michigan.
