Good morning,

We are changing the power steering fluid in our 2012 IC RE with Maxxforce DT. IC says the fleetrite fluid is the only acceptable fluid to use in the Power steering/Fan hydraulic system.

I cannot find any specs for this power steering fluid.

the fleetrite power steering fluid is $8.02 a qt and the system holds 6 gal.

is anyone else running something else?

these buses are still under warranty and I am worried about if there is a future issue and it not being covered because I didn't use the fleetrite P/S fluid.

I ended up getting the blessing to use 10w-30 in it.

My savings to do 3 buses was almost $400

10w-40 has been a generic replacement for hydraulic fluid for decades, so 10w-30 should be good. A majority of our rear-engine transits use 15w-40 per the OEM. We avoid ATF when we can.
