I have a 2006 ce bus that the wabco still functions but refuses to talk to the laptop. Its something in the bus thats causing the issue because I swapped the computer out and I can read codes pluggin it into another bus. I checked the resistors on the j1939 cables and all resistances were good. All the other computers on the bus are functioning and so does the wabco through the data lines .It just shows failure to connect. Im stumped .
Still a possibility that it could be the J1939 cable. We have had cables that have good resistance on the resistors, and work correctly for the most part, but they would have random intermittent problems in which the gauges would start going crazy. After changing the J1939 harness, things have been fine ever since. It may be a slight possibility, but a possibility none the less.
I can talk to the bcm ,ecm, tranny. Like I said the wabco ecm works on a sister bus so its for sure in the chassis harness . Ive seen ghost codes for wheel sensors that can only be repaired with a new ecm but this is just one of those extra weird ones. Ive even ran wires directly from the connector pins on the brake ecm to the laptop j1939 connector. The bus has been running for a couple weeks now after I tore through the harness and did the checks but still wont connect .
Hey its been almost a year and now I have another one doing the same thing. The first bus still wont comunicate with the laptop so I have to install it on another vehicle to get the codes but it has been running the bus since then. Now I have another with that says only partial comunication with the wabco software so i have to do check codes on a sister bus. How is even possible it can talk to all the other vehicle systems but not the diagnostic equiptment?
