I have a 2001 IC T444E setting a DTC code 626, unexpected reset diagnostic trouble code. I have clean battery cable, grounds, connections at the starter. Still sets this 626 code. Happens driving down the road or just idling in parking lot. Engine stumbles like a miss and wait to start light comes on. Engine never stalls completely. Does anyone having any ideas? This one has me stumped.....

The cheat sheet says batteries.

Have you load tested them? I'd recheck all the battery/starter/ground connections and probably even throw a set of batteries at it (perhaps a bad cell or 2 in one of the batteries?)
You can also check the connector at the ECM itself to make sure it hasn't come loose a little bit. I've seen that happen more than once, causing issues that are hard to duplicate.

7 years later, I just helped myself with this old post.

Thanks Google, and old me! :D :D :D

(my fix this go 'round was the ECM wires at the battery box. cleaned them up, and resecured them. All is good now.)
