Families Insisting on Safe Student Transportation (FISST) is now online. This web site was created to help create awareness to parents that there is a growing concern regarding bus safety and that Connecticut buses need Bus Monitors on all K-5 buses and Safety Bars on all school buses. If you support our cause on these issues, are a Connecticut resident and registered voter, Please sign our petition. There is an online petition at www.fisst.com. let's make it happen in Connecticut. Keep our kids alive in 2005.

Thanks,
Brian in Mystic.

Dear Brian,

CONGRATULATIONS on the launch of the new FISST website.

We will link to FISST.com from RememberAllyceea.com, and send out an announcement to our mailing list. Allyceea's family and friends wish you much success and the assistance of many little angels.

Sandy

Sandy,

Thank you for the support and the link. I was wondering if I could use your "School Bus Monitors Please" on my site. Did you make the banner? It's excellent....I would also like to put it on my FISST T-Shirt !! and perhaps make a banner out of it for our booth. I have a booth at the Channel 3 (Hartford CT) Kids Festival on Feb. 12 and 13. We are promoting bus safety and will have a petition signing drive with lots of door prizes for people who sign our petition. We will also have a flyer to distribute and some video. It should be fun.

Thanks again,
Brian in Mystic.

Brian,

Yes I made the banner and definitely you can use it. I will send a larger sized one to you in a better quality. It's just done with PrintShop Essentials, nothing fancy, but the lettering had to be played with to get it child-like. If you would like, you can exchange FISST.com for the www.RememberAllyceea.com. You gave your email address on one of your posts, so I'll find it and send it on.

Sounds like fun at the Kid's Festival - and a great opportunity. Remember our sweet Allyceea on the 12th of February. It will be one year from her death that day.

We had our petition, ribbons, badges, colouring sheets and postcards at Wal-Mart today. Haven't done that since before Christmas, so it was good to be out in the public again. People are so very supportive.

Sandy

Sandy,

Thanks, and my email if you can't find it is straubbt@supship.navy.mil. That is a great opportunity at Walmart. So glad their supportive. I will make it a point to include allyceea on our website as well as your link. Further, the kids festival is 2/12, so part of our hearts that day will be with your family on her anniversary. Keep up the fight, it's working.

Brian in Mystic.

Sandy,

I hope you read this post. Anyway, you mentioned in your response to this post that you held a bus safety event at Walmart for Allyceea. What kind of coloring sheets and post cards did you hand out. I would be interested in acquiring them if it's ok for my booth at the Kid's Festival. It would help.

Thanks,
Brian in Mystic.

Brian,

The postcards are ones we printed on card stock with our three school bus safety requests on one side, and the address to the Ontario Minister of Education on the other. We collect them once they are signed and mail them ourselves to make sure they are sent.

The colouring sheets are from children's school bus safety sites on the internet. I will email them to you.

Would you like me to adapt a "child passenger safety week" valentine page with the FISST website? I will make it into a black and white colouring sheets and send it on. Business cards are a great hand out as well and remind people of the web address and your safety goals. I have used a version of ours on the forum as my profile signature.

Sandy
