I am looking for one of those quotes for a present I am making for one of our newest bus driver's birthday. I know everyone gets cups and clothing with sayings on them.

What is your favourite?

I have a sticker that says "It takes someone special to drive a school bus".

Thanks.

Here's one I came across that I liked. The face looked battered and bruised: "There's a hellava lot they didn't tell me when I hired on to drive school bus."

The person who gets into a cage full of lions impresses everyone except a school bus driver

It's BIG, it's YELLOW, it has RED FLASHING LIGHTS. What part didn't you see?

It takes over three thousand bolts to put a school bus together, but it only takes one nut to scatter them all over the highway.

Anyone can drive a car, but it takes someone special to drive a school bus.

I saw a bumper sticker on one car in this area the other day (and the car's owner was a bus driver within the Shelton SD) that read "The whole world is going to Hell, and I am driving the bus!"

It's BIG, it's YELLOW, it has RED FLASHING LIGHTS. What part didn't you see?

o0o I got the coolest t-shirt from another bus driver once... The design on the front was like that of the "survivor" tv show...
The top said "another day on" the center was "survivor" in the same font as the tv show- and the bottom said "the school bus"

also- I give 2 thumbs up to my Ken Nelson's wheel standing school bus t-shirt

ever see that? (the actual bus)

We are preparing for our annual Retirement party in June.
The quote I am using for our retirees is
" Set me a task in which I can put something of my very self, and it is a task no longer, it is joy; it is art."
Corney to some, maybe, But I believe in this case the message fits the reason.
We are trying to get rid of the image of the "tough" and "sit down, hold on and shut up"
image that is promoted by sweatshirt vendors. Cute? yes, in there place, but not while driving kids. Even TV commericals shows kids with their heads out the windows and standing up in aisles and the driver is just sitting there until some parent gives her a headache pill. It shows the community a picture that parents soon will believe is true and accepted as standard behavior of all kids and drivers. Image is everything.
Call me old fashion. Sorry about the editorial.
Gary
