We are finding that a number of our 2008-2014 Blue Bird Vision hoods are breaking where the hood stops at the cowl are making contact. We have newer units as well but are not seeing damage yet. The area that is breaking out is very contoured and is part of the air intake to the air cleaner.
Has anyone got a good fix without having to purchase a new hood?

We've had the torsion bars break that assist opening the hood and drivers were slamming it shut. Nothing broke yet though.

Not sure that it is the same area as you are talking about but we have had a couple of hoods crack and start punching a hole in the hood where the cowl bumpers supports the hood. We made a 4"x4" plate out of 16 gauge sheet metal, attached with 4 screws and good to go.

We have been doing something similar with 1/8 aluminum sheet but it is extended under the hood guide and is fastened to the hood with pop rivets and body adhesive.

Is this on the underside of the hood where the little rubber bumpers contact the hood closest to the windshield
