Due to budget shortfalls where I live in Yonkers, New York, all high school transportation, including school busing and public busing, is officially cut off. (Except for the special ed and handicapped kids)

What does this mean?

Well, it means I will not be riding the school bus anymore, and it also means MORE congestion and probably MORE accidents and INJURIES!

I'm fighting this, and getting more people involved. If anyone would like to post comments in here, about school busing, and how safe it is, PLEASE do... I need as many pro's as possible.

Thank you all very much.

,Well, THAT *****. What about those students whose parents can't take them to school (i.e. having to go to a job before school starts, ect.)? And what if their parents can't really find a way to take them, and it is a long distance, and/or having to walk through a bad area? If you ask me,this is what happens when districts can't do their budgets right...

***UPDATE***

Today, I made about 15 phone calls, and I will be speaking at the school board meetings.

Also, my district fired ALL school bus monitors, and some transportation department members. Plus, over 30 teachers and 20 assistant principals.

My next step is to call up contractors and try to start some sort of alliance.

Any help is appreciated.

One idea might be to post, publish and/or distribute a list of, by name, how each board member voted for folks in your area. Whether good or bad, for many in political type jobs, "reelection" is the main issue.
