Can any Cummins model B6.7 engine be retrofitted with an engine/exhaust brake? If so, what exactly is involved? Have any of you done this to your engines? Roughly how much will it cost? When I spoke with my IC dealer he said he wasn't exactly sure if it could be done with our existing setup or if it would require the turbo to be changed. At minimum I know we will have to add a wiring harness, a switch and reprogram the ECU. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

The 6.7 has a variable geometry turbo and is capable of being reprogrammed to use it for engine braking. We've done several Blue Birds that didn't come with it from factory. Just like you said, reprogram, add switch and harness. We were around $500 each.

The dealer may want to open a case on it to have Navistar guide them through it being that it's uncharted territory for them.
