Is there a special tool to remove and install the shifter shaft seal on an Allison 2000 series? I cant get this tiny thing out to save my life.

Drill a small hole into seal area install a screw into that hole and pull out. Install with deep socket with the same diameter as seal.

The tool is a hollow pipe with threads cut into it. It bites into the rubber part of the seal with a couple of turns and a screw in the back pulls the seal out. The alternative is to pull the pan and valve body to remove the shift shaft and then you can pry the seal out. Buy the tool .Its worth every penny. Its like $30 from freedom racing.
