anyone ever cut additional threads on a brake chamber rod? is there a safety issue with this?

new chambers we received didnt have enough threads on it after cutting to length to match old ones. a 97 bb rear eng 77 passenger

At least with the welded clevis chambers, they're either right or wrong. I agree though that something doesn't sound right.

Our '03 and '07 BB's take an MGM 3230951. I think it's a BB number 00041403.
