We have a 2005 Bluebird All American with a hydraulic fan that all of a sudden has started randomly leaking from the breather on top of the hydraulic reservoir. It has happened twice now. The first time it did it, it leaked out a pretty good amount. (Maybe a 20" puddle.) This morning is the second time it has happened, although not as much. I'm not sure if the leak happened when the bus was first started or during the route or when it was shut off. The driver noticed it both times after the morning route. Both times it leaked it has come the morning after the bus has sat for a few days. (The last time was after a 2 week Christmas break, and this time after a 3 day weekend.) After the first time, I cleaned everything up and it has driven every day for 2 weeks with no issues until today. We have had this bus since it was new and haven't done any work on any part of the hydraulic system. It acts like it is somehow getting air in the system when it sits for more than a day or so and when it starts up, it burps a big air bubble out. Is this possible? If so, how could air be getting in the system when it's sitting? The oil doesn't appear to be foamy or milky. Any other ideas? |
