I use an otc H.bar puller, otc part # 522. I use a shorter forcing screw. Sometimes have to move the shroud a bit to sneak it out. Make sure you heat the hub to 220f to reinstall, as per the manual. Just slides on.

The forcing screw goes into the hole. There is threaded holes to bolt on the h bar. There is a bottom to that hole.

Bolt the h bar to the pulley so the screw is centered. Screw pushes against the crank.

I use the heat gun that we use for seat repair, put a piece of sheet metal behind the balancer to hold in the heat.

really how long does it take to get it at 220 with a heat gun i am not really feelin the tourch method cause i dont want to hurt the sleeve that the seal rides on but it sounds like the heat gun will take a long time to heat up and does the pulley slide right on or do u need to hit it on?

Maybe 20 minutes? I don't know really. I put the gun on it and do other things. Check it occasionally.

Same with a torch. Use a nice rosebud tip and keep the torch moving and not directly on the pulley. Head it gradually and evenly checking the temp from time to time. It usually slides on easily. Once it got stuck for me. I pulled it the rest of the way on easily with the 3 bolts while it was still warm.

The heat just helps the balancer slide onto the crank without damage to the crank or balancer.
As long as you are careful, the method doesn't matter. 220 is 220 :)
