We have two 2005 IC's with the VT365 in them and both have went down in the past few months. The first one never ran after sitting all summer. We had it towed in to the local International dealer and they told us it didn't have any compression in two or three cylinders. After getting it towed back to our shop, the mechanic took the heads off and found crusty gunk had fallen out of the intake ports and was holding the valves open. After sending the heads to the machine shop to get cleaned, he reassembled the engine with a bullet-proof EGR cooler from Sinister Diesel, new oil cooler and screen, new head gaskets and bolts, new o-rings, and new ICP sensor. When he started it for the first time, it sounded and ran fine. The second time it was started, it ran really rough and wouldn't gain any RPM's. The injection pressure is hovering around 1000 psi and will not go down even after the engine warms up. It will barely pull out of it's tracks now.

The next one started putting water through it really bad one day on the route. We had it towed in and the mechanic tore it down. It had a blown head gasket. He sent the heads off to the machine shop to be cleaned and put it back together with the same new parts as the first one with the addition of a new revised branch tube. It started for the first time and ran fine, but now it has a hard time gaining RPM's too. It's injection pressure is around 700 psi at an idle and will go up as the engine finally starts gaining RPM's.

He has done a pressure test on the high pressure oil system on both engines and has not found any leaks. He has also tested the IPR and it is working. According to the scanner we have, there are no DTC's present.

He has talked to the service managers of two different International dealers and neither one had seen this type of problem.

Any help that you all can give will be greatly appreciated. I hate to scrap the buses, but on the other hand, I hate to put $12,000 in an engine from Jasper.
