itll take as long as it needs to. of course if you had insite youd know exactly what its doing.

the "puff" light is on probably cuz that exhaust is still stupid hot. not sure why you have a problem with your insite.

yeah i talked to the instie tech and they walked me threw and said most be something wrong with bus but then if i do it manually with the switch it works so i dont no but this bus took a long time so was just wondering the average time it takes to run the regen

ive seen them take over an hour before on city transit buses. on my school buses its usually about 30 min. but i dont have the typical stop-go-stop-go kinda bus routes. mine get enough highway miles to regen automatically most of the time.

I have a 2008 IC CE and it never has asked for a full regen in 13 months of driving it, yet will regen while I drive, especially on highways. I only get the exhaust is hot light when this happens and usually if I have to stop. Every time something happens with my bus, the mechanics and I argue over this. I know drivers who's buses ask for a parked regen say it takes 15-30 minutes to complete.

We just had Cummins out here for some warranty work, and their tech said they should average about 45 minutes for a regen, assuming there are no other issues with the emission equipment. Had to force on a new IC a few weeks ago and it took an hour and half, because it had an issue with the EGR and also needed an ECM calibration.
