I own a 99 thomas mvper with cat 3126 and allison md3060. My tranny is currently programmed to use 5 gears, I want to reprogram it to use the 6th gear also. I'm having trouble locating someone who is capable of doing so. I don't mind paying someone for side work if you can do it outside of work. But a garage would probably be my best bet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You will likely need to confirm rear axle ratios as opening 6th gear may result in over speeding the drive line. Might not be as simple as just opening up 6th gear. Any Allison dealer should be able to do the actual programing if the rest of the drive line will take it.
