We decided to go back thru the fleet and retrofit each bus with the Bus-Scan 300. It's wireless.....
To my notion it operates about like the remote on a garage door opener.
Part of the of the setup is with the receiver wired up and the ignition key in the off position hold the button on the transmitter unit and watch for the red light on the receiver to come on and stay on solid. Then attach the transmitter to the rear bulkhead at that point.
Here's the problem, sometimes the transmitter has a mind of it's own. You go thru the setup and then the light on the receiver only flickers or doesn't come on at all. So then the alarm will not shut off. This is a 65 pass. bus. The Bus Scan company says they test them at 100+ feet thru a sheet of steel.
Things I have tried, changed batteries in the transmitter, changed transmitters. Relocated the the receiver to a lower position on the front bulkhead. So far no luck, has anyone else had any of this kind of fun and share with me how you cured it. |

Bump.
Any followup on this? I'm about to put child check in my fleet and had chosen this model. Want to make sure I'm not making a huge mistake. |

Just saw this. My follow up is, we ended up going with the hard wired models. IIRC, they are less money per unit, but more labor. |

Just realized we are talking about two different systems. So you know, I'm speaking of the Bus Scan 300's only.......... |

So you bought a different brand of child check or the bus scan wired system? I've got 30 bus scan wireless 300s still in the box, debating exchanging them. |
