In the video you can see the VGT actuator going crazy, I'm guessing the actuator is bad. I was able to move the VGT lever full motion.

Update: removed turbo and found out the vanes are stuck, the actuator cannot be replaced you have to buy the whole turbo. I'm gonna attempt to free up the vanes.

I saw a cleaner and or kit for turbo somewhere online. I believe it may be Navistar. Worth a shot.

Update: took apart the exhaust side of the turbo and found tons of rust and carbon build up causing the turbo vanes to cease up. I was able to clean it and free up the vanes but now I'll have to replace the EGR coolers (rust). Thanks for the kit# I'll look into getting it.

By chance is this a Maxxforce DT. Check the butterfly valve on the intake I bet if you will have alot of soot built up there. Also if you sample your oil I would say you get dirty samples everytime.

Just an educated guess

Yes forgot to mention that, it's a Maxxforce DT. I'll be checking that out now that you've mentioned it. Thanks.

That is out standing JoeHEB1. I will have to book mark this thread for when we run into this issue and I'm sure we will.

I have had some plugged EGR coolers and valves and have had success in cleaning them with engine de greaser. Just pour some in an container and submerge them, wash them out and re install.
