Appears that a new IC RE was bound for California when it was in a major crash. I've searched and can find nothing about it. I am curious what you have to hit, and how hard you have to hit it, to do that much damage.

I'd be amazed if the driver lived through the accident.

Any info out there?

Back of a tractor-trailer, perhaps? I would say a concrete wall, but whatever it was, it was taller than the front bumper.

I've seen accidents into bridge abutments do that kind of damage. Hard to say what specific scenario as there is no template but driver falls asleep and goes full highway speed into a stopped tractor trailer and I would believe you would see something like this. You have a lot of Kinetic energy in a vehicle of that size at 55 - 60 mph.

Looks like to me like it was in transit from the factory (only 477 miles). Our brand new bus has 900 transport miles on it. It would be hard to fathom that the driver lived through it.
