IC Bus Dealer Midwest Transit Adds Kansas, Western Missouri to Service Territory Following Acquisition

Midwest Transit Equipment expanded its bus sales, service and parts business to include all of Missouri and Kansas after completing an acquisition of Allied Bus Sales from FirstGroup America on Thursday.

The company described the deal as the purchase of “certain assets.” Midwest Transit, an IC Bus dealer, takes over Allied Bus’ core operations based in Nixa, Mo. IC Bus responded to the deal by naming Midwest Transit its authorized dealer throughout the area.

“We look forward to partnering with the team from Allied to drive greater market penetration into these two states along with the expansion of product offerings for all segments of the transportation equipment market,” commented Jim Bridgewater, co-principal of Midwest Transit.

“We are pleased to complete this purchase of Allied Bus Sales and bring the team from Allied into the Midwest Transit Family,” added Barry Huebner, the other co-principal. “Together we look forward to expanding our emphasis on customer service.”

Frank Wittmers was named Operations Manager.

Midwest Transit continues to service IC Buses throughout Illinois, Indiana and parts of Michigan with the goal of expanding further.

“Midwest Transit has built its reputation on great service and unmatched customer support for IC Bus customers," said John McKinney, president of Navistar Global Bus. "With this acquisition, we look forward to seeing Midwest Transit bring that same level of commitment to our customers in Missouri and Kansas."

I would like to see a history of Allied. It would be a shame to loose that in the process. The history of a company is a core part of who they are.
