We have 5 newer buses with the IC Maxxforce DT. We sample all oil changes with these engines due to issues with these buses. So far all oil samples have came back dirty. Is anyone else sampling these engines and getting the same results?
I have two 2010 ICs with the in line six. I have not seen anything unusual in the samples. How many miles do you run between changes & what kind of oil do you use?
We have 4 2012 RE that we change oil between 7500-10500 miles
We have 2 2012-2013 CE that I change at 15000 miles. One bus is still on factory fill. I go off IC recommendation of mileage for CE they get around 7.8 mpg IC puts that at 17500 mileage intervals.
The mileage of buses is between 31000-44000.
I have sampled these engine 10 times
All samples have came back high aluminum content.
3 times I have gotten high soot levels.
2 times I have got high iron, sodium, pottassium and coolant.
1 time I got H20 and chrome.
These buses have all recieved turbo clean up kits some more than once.
1 bus got a new egr cooler due to the high coolant levels.
All results above have been clumped together of number of times of high levels
