Last Wednesday, three student basketball players from Edison Tech high-school in Rochester, New York were arrested while waiting at a designated bus stop. The coach, Jacob Scott, says that he was threatened with arrest when he tried to intervene on the boys' behalf, and was then told that the whole team could be arrested. The Rochester police claimed that the students were obstructing a sidewalk and did not comply with their seemingly-unlawful demands to leave the area.
If that's obstructing a sidewalk, then there are many other school bus stops that are rambunctious and busy that could be targeted with this mentality. The students are due back in court on December 11th. Hopefully they can all have their charges dropped.
