Hi all i have a 98 chevy van type bus 6.5 turbo. It blew a head gasket and pitted the head and block pretty bad.I don't do much major motor work here im the trans sup,,mechanic sub driver and fill the buses. I have a 86 model army truck with a 6.2 i could use. Not sure which way to go? what do yall think? and thanks

Have you called to local repair shops for estimates? Outside labor would be your best repair option, in my opinion. That 6.2 would require too many mods to put in a '98. Or, perhaps you need to budget for replacement - we've gotten rid of all of our 6.5's around here. Probably something in a newer used unit would be cost effective (compared to repair) if you don't have the $$$ for new.
