There's already a fleets topic somewhere, not sure where or what it's called. |

Well, our fleet is mostly comprised of IC brand buses, as far as I remember we have always had Navistar buses, but that might change with the way they are going and as much as they are costing in shop bills. We have a few Birds (my preferred bus) and some Thomas buses that have been real good to the district, most are conventional, we have 3 Birds that are transit. (The fleet would be transit if it were my decision.)
#1. 2008 Blue Bird Vision #2. 2006 Blue Bird All American FE #3. 2004 IC CE #4. 2005 IC CE 200 #5. 2004 IC CE 200 #6. 2005 Blue Bird All American FE #7. 2001 Thomas FS-65 #8. 2005 IC CE 200 #9. 2013 IC CE 300 #10. 2011 IC CE 300 Full Size Handy #11. 2006 Thomas C2 (shorty) #12. 2012 IC CE 300 #13. 2012 IC CE 300 #14. 2010 IC CE 300 #15. 2011 IC CE 300 #16. 2009 IC CE 300 #17. 2013 IC CE 300 #18. 2005 IC CE 200 #19. 2007 IC CE 200 #20. 1999 Blue Bird All American FE
And then we move on to spares.
#31. 1998 Amtran Conventional #32. 2001 International Handy #34. 1999 Thomas FS-65 #35. 1999 Thomas FS-65
That's all from the top of my head, I might have missed some. No Type As or Rear Engine transits. If it were me, we'd have two RE Transits for long trips, a few Type As for shorter routes/handicap students, and more Front Engine Birds.

We have a lot of ICs, which leads me to believe we might be going IC.
1- 2011 IC CE 5- Thomas EF Handicap 8- Thomas MVP ER 9- 2011 IC CE 10- 200? Bluebird All American RE A3 11- 2006? IC RE 12- 2006? IC CE 13- 2006 IC RE 14- 2006 IC CE 15- 2010 IC CE 16- 2011 IC CE 17- 2011 IC CE 18- 2006? IC CE 19- Thomas EF Handicap 20- Thomas HD 21- Thomas HDX 22- IC RE (formally FairFax County bus) 23- 2004 IC RE 24- 2004 IC RE 25- 2004 IC RE 26- 2006? IC RE 27- IC CE Handicap 28- IC FE Handicap 29- 2006? IC RE 30- IC CE Handicap 31- IC CE Handicap 32- 2010 IC CE 33- 2010-2011 IC CE Handicap 34- 2011 IC CE
Spares: 2- Thomas EF 3- Thomas EF 4- Thomas EF 6- Thomas EF 7- Thomas EF
2,3,4 will probably be retired soon. We used to have (I assume) 1994 Thomas or Bluebird Ford B-700s, (16-17) but they were retired in 2011. I remember sitting in class and watching them leave for the final time with ghetto blackbelts.

ThomasBuilt139, why is 139 PM runs only?
1. 2009 Thomas EF 2. 2008 Thomas EF 3. 2003 MidBus/Chevy Duramax 4. 2010 CE300. Only bus in the fleet with LED brake/tail and side turn signals 5. 2002 TC FE (spare) 6. 2013? A3 FE 7. 2009 Thomas EF 8. 2009 MidBus/Chevy w/lift 9. 2001 TC FE 60 + 1 10. 2001 AmTran FE (was driven by our mechanic until it blew a head gasket earlier this year; he now has 1) 11. 2012 D3 FE 12. 2001 AmTran FE (spare) 13. 2001 AmTran FE (spare) 14. Formerly a 2001 AmTran FE, blew a head gasket. I assume it was traded in for the latest buses, 6 and 23 15. 2006 MidBus/Ford diesel 16. 2001 AmTran FE 17. 2004 IC CE200 18. 2001 AmTran FE 19. 2005 IC CE200 20. 2008 Thomas EF 21. We've never had a 21 as far as I know... no idea why 22. 2005 IC CE200 23. 2013? BB Vision, 35-pass. (IIRC) 24. 2000 TC FE, spare 25. 2012 D3 FE
The EFs, CEs, and TCs are all 71-pass. and have air brakes. The AmTran FEs are 77-pass. juicers with manual outward doors and were dealer stock units when we had several buses taken off road at inspection time. 5 has a manual outward door, other TCs are manual jackknives, EFs have air doors, TCs and AmTran FEs have manual doors, and CEs have electric doors (except for 17, manual outward). |

Kinda off topic but will ask any way. How can a bluebird AA have a 7.3L? I thought that was an International engine. |

Just habit to call the 444 a 7.3 because it is what is in my personal truck. quote: Originally posted by 99intamtran

Yeah i understand that. What i was trying to ask is How you have a T444E in a bluebird? i thought the only Bluebird you could get that engine in was a conventional with an international chassis. Sorry if my 1st question was unclear.
Ok im sorry for the misunderstanding, i was just on a different wavelength. no biggie |

ha ha I'm glad you guys like my dinosaur fleet. They get the job done with very little trouble. Most of them run anywhere from 60-100 miles a day and almost all of my buses have over 200k and a couple over 300k miles. Bwest I would have to say its hard to beat that International 3800 chassis. Personally I miss the 6000 GMCs but the 3800s drive and ride good. There are some pics of them on bs67009 flikr account. |

To answer this question (I know it's been awhile) we have 2 AM only runs and 1 PM only run. One bus does 1 AM only and 1 PM only everyday. The other does the 1 am only, then subs in the afternoon. For the time being that was 139. |
