A car ran a stop sign and struck a JCPS school bus en route to Frost Middle School Friday morning, causing the bus to overturn and sending 49 people to area hospitals, a district spokeswoman said.

Looks like the bus held up well, glad to hear only minor injuries. Note that the curved windshield is still intact, even though the wipers are all bent. Impressive.

One thing about a C2, they do well in crashes.

Glad everyone is ok!

News update says that nobody on the bus has life threatening injuries... thank God. Our area hasn't seen a school bus accident like this in a very long time.

Also, here's the article on CNN:

I wouldn't doubt it did.

The bus was originally on the street where that green sign is, if I am correct.

The driver side mirrors, roof strobe, static vent and stop sign are still intact, the roofline isn't pressed downward between the bows, the hatches and overall paint show no scuffing.

The bus flipped on it's side, a multiple roll event would have caused the afore mentioned damages.

I would love the opportunity to give this bus a thorough going-over. Hopefully Thomas does. This is a perfect chance to see what safety related design elements worked, and what didn't.

It would take a LOT more than a Mustang to cause a large school bus to roll over multiple times.

Like Thomasbus24 says, the damage doesn't show that it rolled. This is just another example of the media getting their facts wrong.
