Bus Driver Allegedly Instructs Student To Strike Boy, 9 Monday March 5, 2012 1:45 PM UPDATED: Monday March 5, 2012 1:48 PM COLUMBUS, Ohio - Police announced Monday that they charged a Columbus City Schools bus driver with contributing to the delinquency or unruliness of a child after she allegedly instructed a student to strike a young boy.
According to police, bus driver Brenda Abdul-Mateena was driving along Eakin and Salisbury Roads at about 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 25, when she allegedly stopped the bus and instructed a student to strike a 9-year-old boy.
When the victim lifted his hands to protect himself, Abdul-Mateena allegedly held his arms down and told the student to strike again, with more force.
It was not known if Abdul-Mateena was still driving for Columbus City Schools. Police did not immediately identify the school the students attended.
Columbus City Schools officials did not immediately comment on the case.
